Carers can earn £21 per hour and Live in Carers can earn £930 – £1200 per week.

What can I earn with Carers on Demand? *
- Hourly Home Carers (Self – employed) – As a guide we recommend clients offer £21 per hour to carers (on average) we do not charge clients for the services we provide, we do however deduct a small commission from the carers hourly rate of 19.05% so for example if the client offers £21 per hour the carer will earn £16 per hour, every hour after the commission is deducted.
- Night Carers (Self – employed) – As a guide we recommend clients offer £25 per hour to carers (on average) for waking night visits and £23 per hour for sleeping nights we do not charge clients for the services we provide, we do deduct a small commission from the carers hourly rate of 19.05% so for example if the client offers £25 per hour the carer will earn £20.24 per hour, every hour after the commission is deducted.
- Live in Carers (Self – employed) – Clients needs vary for Live in Care but as a guide we say on average carers earn from £930 – £1200 per week. Carers on Demand deduct a set fee for commission on these fees of £130 per week. Clients also offer travel and food allowances on top of these fees.

Below are some FAQs that may help you with any unanswered questions:
Hourly Carers (min 30-minute visits) this can be from anytime morning to evening. Or multiple visits per day.
Live-in Carers. (Can be long or short term cover for Live in Care, from 1 week to ongoing)
Respite Cover Carers, to give clients current carers a break.
Night Care (sleeping nights or waking nights).
Once we have your preferences and requirements, we then match you with suitable clients that match your specific requirements this selection is carried out by experienced care recruiters in our office and not using impersonal and unreliable technology. We then send you job alerts of suitable clients and then you let us know which clients you would like to talk to on a video call or meet with, then once a start date is agreed we send you the agreement in writing so you and the client can start working together on the agreed days and times.
We can match you with a suitable client in a short space of time and carers can usually start within a week. Subject to vetting.
Carers work on a self-employed basis with clients directly we do not manage or supervise the carers or manage the care in anyway. We cannot set the clients offered rates but rates offered can depend on their needs and requirements, but we generally recommend the following as a guide as most carers are more than happy with this and it offers a high financial reward often much higher than standard agencies meaning the carers earn a very good financial reward for their hard work and dedication they provide.
Hourly Carers £21 per hour – Mon – Sun.
Night Carers – £22 per hour for sleeping nights and £25 per hour for waking nights.
Live in Carers – from £930 per week (depends on needs etc and maybe more for a couple)
All the carers introduced work on a Self-employed basis and need to be registered as self-employed with HMRC. HMRC will issue you with a UTR Number (Unique Tax Reference Number) and you need to keep a record of all your earnings and expenses and can use a cost- effective online accountant to complete a simple Self – Assessment Tax return annually.
Yes, all carers MUST have an individual carers insurance policy in place before they start working with clients and at all times when working. This can be easily done online and takes 5 minutes. The approximate cost of an individual carers insurance policy is £6 – £8 per month.
We know from time to time things can occur and unexpected events can happen. If ever a carer is unable to attend the agreed visits for any reason, then we ask both you and the client to contact us immediately as we have access to a large pool of vetted carers so could introduce another carer to cover the visits. Carers can also subcontract to other carers and often carers work with a small pool of carers, and they can cover each other should the need arise, however the introduction must always be made through Carers on Demand and not with the cover carer directly as per our terms. Carers must be vetted and checked by Carers on Demand and payments must be made via Carers on Demand and not with the carer directly.
Generally, we would not advise this as Carers on Demand offers a quality professional service for clients looking for the very best, experienced and vetted carers in the UK therefore we must protect the services we provide, and by passing our services is not recommended.
When you are introduced to a Client through Carers on Demand you accept our terms of service and this includes data protection and privacy agreements to protect both the clients, the carers and Carers on Demand. However, we do offer an option to clients of working with the carer directly and this will incur a fee for the cost of sourcing, vetting and registering the carer. Clients would need to pay this fee in order to work with you directly and we MUST be informed.
We do take the bypassing of our services very seriously and we do use various resources to ensure this does not happen without our consent. Clients and carers by passing the services of Carers on Demand without our agreement can be pursued through the courts, including the recovery of all costs including court fees, legal costs and third-party investigator fees if needed.
Yes of course, carers generally build up their client base to match the times and days they wish to work each work. Also to earn the income you need. You choose your hours, and we match you with clients wanting those hours.
Carers wanting to register with us must have the following:
- MUST have worked with a UK care agency in the past for a minimum of six months (in the past 6 years)
- MUST have the Right to Work in the UK.
- MUST be kind, caring and reliable working for yourself brings responsibility to your clients.
- MUST be able to provide good references.
Carers are required to have a DBS check through us if they do not already have one.
Due to our excellent reputation, we have worked with many of our registered carers since 2016 we look for carers who have experience in all areas of care, who do not discriminate and are friendly and helpful with excellent communication skills.
