Therefore, we are registered DBS checkers and understand training requirements of carers, along with this we are proud to have earned a great reputation since 2016 which puts us in an enviable position of having great demand from carers who wish to work with us.
Our 10 point vetting checklist
All the carers introduced MUST have previous, proven experience working as a professional carer.
We undertake an interview with all carers directly with an experienced care recruiter.
We collect all the ID documents for a full ID Check.
We undertake a government Right to Work check, if the carer does not hold a UK Passport.
We obtain 2 x references for each carer. A professional Reference and a Character Reference.
We obtain a DBS check (Police Check) on all carers registered with us.
Carers hold certain training certificates. That are renewed and updated when required.
Carers on Demand are experienced and knowledgeable in all aspects of the care industry.
Which type of care can the carers provide?

FAQS:
Below are some FAQs that may help you with any unanswered questions:
Hourly Carers (min 30-minute visits) this can be from anytime morning to evening. Or multiple visits per day.
Live-in Carers (Can be long or short term cover for Live in Care, from 1 week to ongoing)
Respite Cover Carers, to give your current care givers a break.
Night Care (sleeping nights or waking nights).
Once we have your preferences and requirements, we then match you with suitable carers that match your specific requirements this selection is carried out by experienced care recruiters in our office and not using impersonal and unreliable technology. We then send you over multiple carer profiles of suitable carers and then you let us know which carer/s you would like to talk to on a video call or meet with then once a start date is agreed we send you the agreement in writing and the carer starts working with you directly at the agreed days and times. The carer has an online calendar with all your agreed visits on which is shared with us and with you and or a family member if preferred.
Yes, absolutely many clients require care visits 7 days a week and if you have multiple carer visits per day you would need two or possibly more carers to support with this. You can work with as many carers as you need.
Yes, if you require a carer to have a car, for example so they can take you out for appointments or to go shopping then please let us know.
We can match you with a suitable carer in a short space of time and carers can usually start within a day or two if required. Or sooner at special request.
As the carers are introduced to you and work on a self-employed basis with you directly we do not manage or supervise the carers we introduce you to. We can only recommend the carers rates and this can depend on your needs and requirements but we generally recommend the following as a guide as most carers are more than happy with this and it offers a high financial reward often much higher than standard agencies meaning the carers earn a very good financial reward for their hard work and dedication they provide.
Hourly Carers £21 per hour (No additional charges at weekends)
Night Carers – £22 per hour for sleeping nights and £25 per hour for waking nights.
Live in Carers – from £930 per week (depends on needs etc and maybe more for a couple)
The carers cost will always be agreed with you before they start working in writing as we believe in clear and transparent pricing at all times.
Carers generally charge double rates on Christmas Day, New Years Day and Easter Sunday and time and half on all other bank holidays. This can be agreed between you and the carer directly.
All the carers introduced work on a Self-employed basis and are registered as self-employed with HMRC. You do not have any employment responsibilities at all. You are not responsible for paying National Insurance or any employment costs.
Yes, we ensure all carers have an individual carers insurance policy in place before they start working with you.
We like to keep things simple and straightforward, so part of our service is to handle the financials on the carers behalf, we simply invoice you fortnightly or monthly.
Yes, if you receive funding for your care then the funding can be used to pay for your care services.
- DIRECT PAYMENTS: This funding comes from the local authority and can be used to pay for the services of a carer from any provider you choose including through Carers on Demand. You can contact your local authority for more information on direct payments or talk to us.
- CHC FUNDING / NHS CONTINUING HEALTH CARE: Yes, this funding can pay for your carer. NHS CHC Funding is offered by the NHS for complex and ongoing health conditions and to qualify you will be required to undertake a health assessment with your local NHS TRUST.
- LOCAL AUTHORITY / COUNCIL FUNDING: You may be entitled to this type of funding, and the council can undertake an individual assessment of your needs and finances to see if you are entitled to funding. For more information about funding please contact your local council directly for more information.

This can include, Attendance Allowance and Carers Allowance, PIP Personal Independence Payment, DLA Disability Living Allowance. We know from time to time things can occur and unexpected events can happen. If ever your carer is unable to attend the visit for any reason, then we ask both you and the carer to contact us as we have access to a large pool of vetted carers so would ideally introduce you to another carer to cover them. The carers can also subcontract and often they work with a small pool of carers and they can cover each other should the need arise, however the introduction must always be made through Carers on Demand and not with the cover carer directly as per our terms. Family or friends could also cover if available.
Your carer will book any holidays in advance, and we can then introduce you to another carer of your choice for this time.
There is no cancellation period required if you are not happy with your carer we can then match you with another carer if required. There is no cancellation period required. Clients and carers can opt to have a contract between themselves which the carer can provide you with on request you can then both add any agreements such as cancellation periods in the contract if preferred. We can support you with this if required.
Generally, we would not advise this as Carers on Demand offers a quality professional service for clients looking for the very best, experienced and vetted carers in the UK therefore we must protect the services we provide, and by passing our services is not recommended. When you are introduced to a carer through Carers on Demand you accept our terms of service and this includes data protection and privacy agreements to protect both the clients, the carers and Carers on Demand.
However, we do offer an option of working with the carer directly and this will incur a fee for the cost of sourcing, vetting and registering the carer. Please talk to us about this directly. We do take the bypassing of our services very seriously and we do use various resources to ensure this does not happen without our consent. Clients and carers by passing the services of Carers on Demand without our agreement can be pursued through the courts, including the recovery of all costs including court fees, legal costs and third-party investigator fees if required.
